LOCAL ATTRACTIONS AND ACTIVITIES
Situated in the heart of Burns Country we are close to Burns Cottage, Burns Heritage Park, Alloway Auld Kirk and the Brig O' Doon. Why not go back in time and organise a walk around Auld Ayr with Rabbie himself. Various tours available.We are also ideally situated for Ayr Racecourse.
The Scottish bowling centre is only a short bus journey or if you are feeling enegetic it is within walking distance.
Culzean Castle owned by the National Trust for Scotland, is 40 minutes away by car and you can enjoy the beautiful coastal journey along the A719. Visit the fishing village of Dunure with its harbour and historical ruined castle. Then proceed to the 'Electric Brae' an illusion not to be missed.
During the summer, why not take a cruise on the Firth of Clyde. You can sail on the world famous Waverley. The Waverley is the world's last sea going paddle steamer.
If you have time it is also possible to have a day trip to the Isle of Arran 'Scotland in minature' sailing from Ardrossan (rail link from Ayr) or take a visit to Auchentoshan Distillery which is located just outside Glasgow.
Don't forget the kids. The Heads of Ayr Farm Park (10 minutes drive) and Loudoun Castle Theme Park (20 minutes drive) will keep them entertained.
For those who would prefer to see Ayrshire at a more leisurely pace the various Cycle Routes are only 2 minutes away (we can arrange cycle hire). There is secure storage for your bike. . To keep the wheels turning you can order a packed lunch.
